Best for your buck front brake upgrade....

Post by 1stgenWizard » Sat Jun 13, 2020 12:58 am

Well there are many opinions on what could be the best upgrade for for your front brakes on your 1st gen probe, I plan on just listing what is out there and available at the time of this post for your probe.

Mazda 6 Brakes, bolt on...
You can buy these parts from just about any auto part resource to do this easy mod.
03-05 Mazda 6 => 11.1" => Fits no problem with a 16" wheel
06-07 Mazda 6 => 11.8" => Fits no problem with a 16" wheel
06-07 Mazda Speed 6 => 12.6" => Must have a 17" wheel minimum

Parts you will need in order to complete the swap and have to match the year corresponding rotor you are going to use.
-Front Calipers
-Front Caliper brackets
-Front Rotors
-Brake pads.

Some fitment issues for 1st gens, 2.5 mm will have to be taken from the caliper bracket to move the bracket over some to clear the rotor or add washers for spacing.(Ground down or machined off)
