Rear Crankshaft Main Bearing Seal: Service and Repair
1. Remove transaxle.2. Remove clutch assembly, if applicable, then the flywheel.
3. Remove starter mounting plate as necessary.
4. Remove crankshaft rear oil seal retainer, then press seal from retainer.
5. Clean seal retainer surface, then coat new seal with engine oil.
6. Position seal into retainer with hollow side of seal facing engine, then drive seal into retainer using rear crank seal replacer tool No. T88C-6701-BH or equivalent.
7. Install seal and retainer using new gasket, then tighten retainer attaching bolts to specifications.
8. Trim excess gasket material from retainer, install starter mounting plate, then torque retaining bolts to 14-22 ft. lbs.
9. Install clutch assembly, if applicable, then the flywheel.
10. Install transaxle.
