Fuel Pressure Control Solenoid: Description and Operation

This valve Fig. 11, controls vacuum applied to the fuel pressure regulator. The valve allows vacuum to the fuel pressure regulator when de-energized and vents vacuum to the atmosphere when energized. Fuel pressure to the injectors is increased when vacuum is vented. The solenoid is controlled by a signal from the electronic control assembly. The valve is mounted on the firewall next to the canister purge regulator solenoid valve.
