Fuel Filler Hose: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

Fuel Tank Filler Neck:

1. Relieve the fuel line pressure.
2. Raise the vehicle and drain fuel from tank into an approved safety container.
3. Remove the two clamps and vapor hoses from the fuel tank at the filler neck assembly.
4. Remove the vapor hose from the three way check valve and the fuel tank filler neck hose and their respective clamps from the filler neck assembly.
5. Remove two attaching screws inside the filler door. Remove the outer filler neck retaining bracket.
6. Remove the fuel tank filler neck cover panel mounting bolts and the panel from the left hand rear wheel well.
7. Remove two filler neck mounting bolts from the chassis.

Fuel Tank Filler Neck:

8. Remove the filler neck and gasket from below the vehicle.

INSTALLATION

1. Position the filler neck assembly and gasket into the vehicle and install the mounting bolts.
2. Install the fuel tank filler neck cover panel to the left hand rear wheel well and install the mounting bolts.
3. Install the outer filler neck retaining bracket and attaching screws inside the filler door.
4. Install all hoses and clamps to the filler neck assembly.
5. Install the fuel tank drain plug. Tighten to 9-13 lb. ft. (12-18 N-m).
. 6. Fill the tank with fuel and check for leaks.
