Test 3, Ignition Coil Resistance Check

1. Using a suitable volt-ohmmeter, check ignition coil resistance.
2. Resistance specifications for models with turbocharged engines are as follows:
a. Primary 0.72-0.88 ohms
b. Secondary 10.3 13.9K ohms.
c. Case 10M ohms minimum.
3. Resistance specifications for models with non-turbo-charged engines are as follows:
a. Primary 1.04-1.27 ohms.
b. Secondary 7.1-9.7K ohms.
c. Case 10M ohms minimum.
4. If resistance is as specified, proceed to Test 4.
5. If resistance is not as specified, replace coil.
