FORD: 1989 PROBE


ISSUE: A "whistling" noise on 1989 Probe GT vehicles that sounds like it is coming from the front of the windshield may be caused by the front fascia to hood seal (leading edge of hood) not sealing properly.

FIGURE 2:

ACTION: To correct this, install a foam spacer under the lower edge of the hood seal. Refer to the following service procedure for detailed installation instructions.

1. Remove the seal to front fascia six (6) attaching screws and remove seal.

2. Install a foam spacer that is 5 mm x 5 mm x 800 mm to front fascia seal lower edge, Figure 2.

3. Install the seal with foam spacer to front fascia with six (6) attaching screws.
