ISSUE: The diameter of the threaded portion of the input shaft for the MTX transaxle has been increased. Because of this, the synchronizer sleeve and locknut are also larger, Figure 1. These new parts are not interchangeable with earlier built transaxles.

ACTION: If it is necessary to service the input shaft, synchronizer sleeve or locknut in any MTX transmission, check the build date on the certification label located on the driver's side "B" pillar.
