Wastegate: Service and Repair

REMOVAL

Air Bypass Valve Joint Pipe:

1. Remove clamp and air hose from turbocharger assembly at air bypass valve joint pipe.

Intercooler Air Hose:

2. Remove clamp and air hose from intercooler at air bypass valve joint pipe.

Joint Pipe Retaining Bracket:

3. Remove mounting bolt from air bypass valve joint pipe retaining bracket at joint pipe.

Air Bypass Valve Connecting Hose:

4. Remove spring clamp and connecting air hose from air bypass valve assembly.

Air Bypass Valve And Joint Pipe:

5. Remove small air tube from air bypass valve and remove valve and joint pipe as an assembly.

Air Bypass Valve And Joint Pipe:

6. Remove attaching nuts from air bypass valve and remove joint pipe and gasket from valve assembly.

INSTALLATION

1. Install gasket and joint pipe onto air bypass valve assembly.
2. Install attaching nuts onto valve assembly.
3. Install small air tube onto valve assembly.
4. Install connecting air hose and spring clamp onto air bypass valve assembly.
5. Install mounting bolt into joint pipe through air bypass valve joint pipe retaining bracket.
6. Install air hose and clamp from intercooler at air bypass valve joint pipe assembly.
7. Install air hose and clamp from turbocharger assembly onto air bypass valve joint pipe assembly.
