Automatic Transmission/Transaxle: Adjustments

1. Remove splash shield near left front tire.

Line Pressure Gauge:






2. Remove line pressure square head plug (marked L) and install transmission test adapter D87C-77000-A and pressure gauge T57L-77820-A, or equivalent.

Kickdown Cable:






3. Turn kickdown cable locknuts to furthest point away from throttle cam (loosen cable all the way).
4. Shift transaxle into PARK and warm up engine.

NOTE: Idle speed should be 750 ± 25 rpm.

Line Pressure Chart:






5. Turn locknuts toward throttle cam until line pressure begins to exceed 63 - 66 psi (450 kPa).
6. Turn nuts away from throttle cam until specified pressure is reached.
7. Tighten nuts and turn off engine.
8. Remove gauge and adapter. Tighten square head plug to 43 - 87 in lb (5 - 10 Nm).

Kickdown Cable Protector:






9. When installing a new kickdown cable, fully open throttle valve, then crimp pin with protector installed as shown. Remove protector.
