Dome Lamp: Description and Operation

Voltage is present at the Dome Lamp bulb at all times through the ROOM Fuse.

With the Dome Lamp Switch in the "OFF" position, the Dome Lamp will not operate.

With the Dome Lamp Switch in the "DOOR" position, voltage is present at each of the Door Courtesy Lamp Switches through the Dome Lamp bulb. Opening a door causes that door's Courtesy Lamp Switch contacts to close. Current flows through the ROOM Fuse, the Dome Lamp and the Door Courtesy Lamp Switch to ground. The Dome Lamp illuminates.

With the Dome Lamp Switch in the "ON" position, the Dome Lamp bulb is grounded. Current flows through the ROOM Fuse and the Dome Lamp to ground. The Dome Lamp illuminates until the Dome Lamp Switch is moved to the "DOOR" or "OFF" position.
