Lifter / Lash Adjuster: Service and Repair

1. Disconnect the battery ground cable, then remove valve cover.
2. Remove accessory drive belts, then the timing belt.
3. Remove camshafts.
4. Remove hydraulic lash adjusters from cylinder head and, if any are to be reused, mark those for installation reference.

NOTE: Adjuster failure may result if reused adjusters are not returned to the bores from which they were removed.

5. Reverse procedure to install. Coat friction surfaces with clean engine oil during assembly.
