Ball Joint: Service and Repair

NOTE: Ball joints on this vehicle are not serviceable parts. Only dust boots are replaceable.

1. Remove lower control arm from vehicle.
2. Place control arm in a vise.

3. Remove dust boot with a chisel. Use caution not to damage ball joint.
4. Liberally coat inside of new dust boot with lubricant C1AZ-19590-B, or equivalent.

5. Install dust boot with Dust Boot Installer T88C-5493-AH, or equivalent.
6. Install lower control arm.
