Camshaft Oil Seal: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Remove the camshaft sprocket.
2. Remove the blind cap using a small standard screwdriver from the driven-side camshaft opening.
3. Use Seal Remover T92C-6700-CH to remove the camshaft on seal from the drive-side camshaft opening.

INSTALLATION
1. Apply a light coating of engine oil to the camshaft oil seal and the cylinder head.





2. Use a suitable socket and hammer to install the camshaft oil seal into the drive-side camshaft opening. Camshaft oil seal protrusion should measure 0-0.5 mm (0-.020 inch).





3. Apply sealant to a new blind cap and tap the blind cap in the driven-side camshaft opening using a plastic hammer.
4. Install the camshaft sprocket.
