Service Port HVAC: Description and Operation

The refrigerant system has high-pressure (discharge) and low-pressure (suction) service gauge port valves. These port valves allow service hoses and a manifold gauge set to be connected to the A/C system so the system pressures can be read.
The low-pressure service gauge port is located on the suction accumulator/drier. The high-pressure service gauge port is located on the liquid line extension in front of the A/C condenser core.
A service gauge port valve assembly is shown in the illustration provided with the valve in the closed position.
