Warning Chime/Buzzer System

The warning chime/buzzer systems are made up of the following warnings:
- Key-in-ignition warning
- Safety belt warning

All of these warning chime/buzzer systems are controlled by the Central Processing Unit (CPU).

Key-in-Ignition Warning
The warning chime will sound if the key is left in the ignition switch lock cylinder and either door is opened while the engine is off.

Safety Belt Warning
When the ignition switch is placed in the ON position, the safety belt warning chime will sound for approximately 4-8 seconds and the safety belt warning indicator will illuminate for approximately 60 seconds. However, if the driver's front safety belt retractor and tongue is buckled prior to turning the ignition switch to the ON position, only the safety belt warning indicator will illuminate.

Timer System

- Seat belt timer - The timer controls the duration of the safety belt warning chime and safety belt warning indicator illumination. The safety belt warning indicator will remain on for approximately 60 seconds.

- Ignition lock/cylinder lamp timer (If equipped) - The timer controls the duration of time the key illumination lamp is illuminated. When either door is opened, the lamp is activated.

- Illuminated entry timer (If equipped) - The timer controls the duration of time the interior lamps remain on after either door has been closed. The interior lamps remain on for approximately five seconds after both doors are closed and then fade to off.
