Daytime Running Lamp: Description and Operation

The Daytime Running Lamp (DRL) system is designed to turn on the vehicle fog lamps and the high beam indicator lamp when these conditions are met:
- The ignition switch is in the ON position.
- The headlamp system is in the OFF position.

When the above conditions are met, the daytime running lamps control activates the DRL control relay to illuminate the fog lamps at the normal full intensity.

NOTE: The daytime running lamps system is standard on Canadian vehicles only.
