Power Steering Pump Drive Belt Replacement

REMOVAL

1. Loosen the tensioner locknut on the power steering pump and water pump drive belt tensioner.

NOTE: If the drive belt is to be reused, mark the drive belt in the direction of normal drive belt rotation. If the drive belt is reinstalled incorrectly, drive belt noise may occur.

2. Loosen the tensioner adjusting bolt until there is enough slack to remove the drive belt.
3. Remove the drive belt from the power steering pump pulley.
4. Remove the drive belt from the crankshaft pulley and water pump pulley.
5. Remove the drive belt from the vehicle.

INSTALLATION

1. Route the drive belt around the three pulleys.

NOTE: Ensure that the drive belt is seated properly on all of the pulleys before the tensioner is adjusted.

2. Adjust the drive belt to the proper tension.
3. Tighten the tensioner locknut to 32-46 Nm (24-34 ft. lbs.).
