Rollover Valve: Description and Operation

Evaporative Emission Valve:

DESCRIPTION
Fuel vapor in the fuel tank is vented through the evaporative emission valve to the Evaporative Emissions Canister (EVAP canister). The evaporative emission valve is mounted on top of the fuel tank, and secured by a grommet.

OPERATION
A vapor space between the fuel level and the fuel tank upper surface is combined with a small orifice and float shut-off valve in the evaporative emission valve to prevent fuel from flowing to the EVAP canister. The vapor space also allows for thermal expansion of the fuel.
