Starter Solenoid: Testing and Inspection

SOLENOID S-TERMINAL CIRCUIT RESISTANCE







1. Check the starter solenoid for continuity between the S- and M-terminals using 73 Digital Multimeter 105-R0051 or equivalent. Replace the starter solenoid if there is no continuity.







2. Check for continuity between the S-terminal and starter solenoid body using 73 Digital Multimeter 105-R0051 or equivalent. Replace the starter solenoid if there is no continuity.

SOLENOID M-TERMINAL







Check for ground between the M- and B-terminals using 73 Digital Multimeter 105-R0051 or equivalent. Replace the starter solenoid if there is continuity.
