Disassembly and Assembly

DISASSEMBLY
1. Remove the front wheel knuckle.
2. Use a large screwdriver to remove the inner wheel bearing oil seal. Discard the seal.





3. If the inner race remains on the wheel hub, grind a section of the inner bearing race to approximately 0.5 mm (0.0197 inch) and use a chisel to remove the race.
4. Remove the retaining ring from the front wheel knuckle.

NOTE: The front wheel bearing cannot be reused, it must be replaced.





5. Use Knuckle Puller T87C-1104-A, Step Plate Adapter D80L-630-5 or equivalent and Hub Bearing Remover Adapter T92C-1104-H to remove the wheel hub from the front wheel knuckle.





6. Use Knuckle Puller T87C-1104-A, Hub Bearing Remover Adapter T92C-1104-H, and an appropriate step plate to remove the front wheel bearing from the front wheel knuckle.





7. Mark the front disc brake rotor shield and the front wheel knuckle for proper assembly.

NOTE: If the front disc brake rotor shield is removed from the front wheel knuckle, it cannot be reused. The front disc brake rotor shield must be replaced.





8. Use a chisel to remove the front disc brake rotor shield.





CAUTION: If a lug bolt is removed from the wheel hub, it cannot be reused. The lug bolt must be replaced.

9. Use a press to remove the lug bolts from the wheel hub.





ASSEMBLY,
1. Use a press to install new lug bolts.
2. Mark the new front disc brake rotor shield like the one removed.
3. Align the mark on the new front disc brake rotor shield with the mark on the front wheel knuckle.





4. Use Hub Support T89P-1104-A and a press to install the new front disc brake rotor shield.





5. Use Bearing Cup Replacer T88T-1175-C and a press to install the new front wheel bearing.
6. Install the retaining ring.





7. Use Bushing Receiving Cup T89P-5638-C3, Front Seal Replacer T87C-6019-A, and a press to install the wheel hub.

NOTE: Apply grease to the lip of the inner wheel bearing oil seal.





8. Use Bearing Cup Replacer T88T-2598-D and an appropriate step plate to install a new inner wheel bearing oil seal.
9. Install the front wheel knuckle.
