REMOVAL
1. Raise and support the vehicle.
2. Remove the front wheel.

Wheel Hub Retainer:





3. Carefully raise the staked portion of the front axle wheel hub retainer using a small cape chisel.

NOTE: When loosening the front axle wheel hub retainer, lock the wheel hub by applying the brakes.

4. Remove and discard the front axle wheel hub retainer. It must not be reused.





5. If equipped with ABS, remove the two front anti-lock sensor and bracket bolts.





6. If equipped with ABS, remove the front anti-lock sensor and bracket.





7. If equipped with ABS, remove the front anti-lock sensor routing bracket bolt.

Tie Rod End Remover Tool:





8. Use Tie Rod End Remover TOOL-3290-D or equivalent to separate the tie rod end from the front wheel knuckle.

Ball Joint Clamp:





9. Remove the ball joint clamp bolt and nut.





10. Separate the ball joint from the front wheel knuckle.





11. Remove the two front spring and shock-to-front wheel knuckle bolts.

CAUTION: Handle the front disc brake rotor and front disc brake caliper in such a way as to prevent deformation, nicking, scratching or contamination of the front disc brake linings/rotor surfaces.

12. Remove the front disc brake caliper anchor bracket. Support the front disc brake caliper assembly with wire from the front coil spring. It is not necessary to remove the front disc brake caliper from the front brake hose.
13. Remove the front disc brake rotor.

NOTE: If the wheel hub binds on the front wheel drive shaft and joint splines, it can be loosened by lightly tapping with a plastic faced hammer on the end of the front wheel driveshaft and joint.

14. Separate the front wheel knuckle from the front wheel driveshaft and joint.
15. Remove the front wheel knuckle.

INSTALLATION
To install, reverse the removal procedure.
