Low Reverse Clutch
^ The low/reverse clutch locks the rotation of the low/reverse hub. It operates during reverse gear and MANUAL LOW (1) first gear.^ The low/reverse external clutch plate is coupled to the Transaxle case and does not rotate. The low/reverse internal clutch plate is coupled to the low/reverse clutch hub, and the low/reverse clutch hub is coupled to the front planet. A one-way clutch is adjacent to the low/reverse clutch hub. Because the one-way clutch is coupled to the Transaxle case, the hub and front planet can only rotate counterclockwise when looking at the front planet from the pump side of the Transaxle.
^ When hydraulic pressure is applied to the reverse clutch piston, the low/reverse external clutch plate and low/reverse internal clutch plate are pressed tightly together, and the Transaxle case and low/reverse clutch inner race are connected. The rotation of the front planet stops when the low/reverse clutch is applied.
