Fluid Level Check
1. Make sure the vehicle is on a level surface.2. Place the gearshift lever in the PARK (P) position.
3. Run the engine to warm up the automatic transmission fluid (ATF) to normal operating temperature, 60-70°C (140-160°F).
4. Apply the parking brake and position wheel blocks to prevent the vehicle from moving.
5. While depressing the brake pedal, shift the gearshift lever through each position, pausing momentarily in each position.
6. Place the gearshift lever back in the PARK (P) position.
7. Remove the fluid level indicator, wipe it clean, and replace it (make certain the fluid level indicator is completely seated in the oil filler tube).
NOTE: Use the cool range (20°C, 68°F) marks as a rough fluid level reference only when the automatic transaxle is cool.
8. Remove the fluid level indicator again and inspect the ATF level.

9. If the ATF level is not within the hot range (65°C 149°F) marks on the fluid level indicator, add ATF. Otherwise, proceed to the ATF Condition inspection.
