Assembly






1. Check the oil pump for a broken or worn oil distributor sleeve seal, a weakened spring, and damaged or worn sliding surfaces. Replace as required.





2. Use Gauge Bar T80L-77003-A and a feeler gauge to make the following measurements. If the clearances are not within specifications, replace the oil pump. Measure the clearance between the oil pump housing and the outer and inner rotor in four places.
Standard clearance: 0.02-0.04 mm (0.0008-0.0015 inch).
Maximum allowable clearance: 0.05 mm (0.0019 inch).





4. Measure the clearance between the oil pump boss and the inner rotor.
Standard clearance: 0.040-0.115 mm (0.0016-0.0045 inch).
Maximum allowable clearance: 0.124 mm (0.0049 inch).





5. Measure the spool valve outer diameter.
Standard outer diameter: 13.970-13.980 mm (0.5500-0.5503 inch).
Minimum outer diameter: 13.970 mm (0.5500 inch).
6. Install the spool valve and spring.
7. Install a new washer and the spool valve plug.
8. Tighten the spool valve plug to 32-47 Nm (24-34 ft. lbs.).
9. Install the outer rotor.





10. Install the inner rotor. Line up the alignment mark between the inner and outer rotor.
11. Install the flange.
12. Install the oil pump cover.





13. Tighten the oil pump cover bolts to 8-10 Nm (71-88 inch lbs.) in the sequence shown.
14. Use the oft pump shaft to check for smooth operation of the oil pump.





15. Install new oil distributor sleeve seals.





16. Apply petroleum jelly to the planet gear bearing thrust washer and install it on the oil pump cover. The outer diameter of the planet gear bearing thrust washer should be 88.0 mm (3.46 inch).
