Lever, Removal

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Remove the console finish panel.
3. Remove the four transmission control selector dial bezel screws.





4. Disconnect the shift lock actuator switch connectors.
5. Disconnect the Transmission Control Switch (TCS) electrical connector.





6. Remove the shift cable and bracket from the transmission range selector. Use a screwdriver to pry the shift cable and bracket from the transmission range selector.
7. Remove the lock tab cover. Squeeze the lock tabs on the shift cable and bracket and remove the shift cable and bracket from the transmission range selector.

Interlock Cable Locknut:

8. Loosen the ignition/shifter interlock cable locknut.
9. Remove the shift cable and bracket from the transmission range selector.
10. Disconnect the shift lock actuator electrical connector.





11. Remove the three transmission range selector nuts and one bolt. Remove the transmission range selector and control selector housing seal.

INSTALLATION
1. Position the transmission range selector and control selector housing seal on the studs.
2. Install the three gearshift lever nuts and one bolt. Tighten the transmission range selector nuts and bolt to 16-22 Nm (12-16 ft lbs.).
3. Install the ignition/shifter interlock cable on the transmission range selector. Tighten the ignition/shifter interlock cable locknut to 9-14 Nm (6-10 ft lbs.).
4. Slide the shift cable and bracket through the mounting opening in the transmission range selector and snap in place. Install the lock tab cover.
5. Snap the shift cable and bracket onto the transmission range selector.
6. Connect the shift lock actuator electrical connectors.
7. Connect the TCS electrical connector.
8. Install the four transmission control selector dial bezel screws. Tighten the transmission control selector dial bezel screws to 2-2.9 Nm (17-26 inch lbs.).
9. Adjust the shift cable and bracket.
10. Install the console finish panel.
11. Connect the battery ground cable.
