Torque Converter Clutch Solenoid: Description and Operation
DESCRIPTIONThe shift solenoid (SS) assembly is located on the valve body. It consists of seven individual solenoids. These are:
^ 1-2 Shift Solenoid:
^ 2-3 Shift Solenoid:
^ 3-4 Shift Solenoid:
^ Torque Converter Clutch Control (TCCC) Solenoid
^ 3-2 Timing Solenoid
^ Line Pressure Solenoid
^ Torque Converter Clutch (TCC) Solenoid
TORQUE CONVERTER CLUTCH CONTROL (TCCC) SOLENOID:
^ The torque converter clutch control (TCCC) solenoid is located on the valve body and is switched on and off by electrical signals from the PCM.
^ The TCCC controls the line pressure applied to the TCCC valve and the torque converter clutch (TCC) shift valve.
TORQUE CONVERTER CLUTCH (TCC) SOLENOID:
^ The torque converter clutch (TCC) solenoid is located on the valve body and is switched on and off by duty-cycle regulated electrical signals from the PCM.
^ The TCC solenoid controls the TCCC valve. The TCC solenoid is switched on and off at a duty-cycle frequency of 31.25 Hz, and opens and closes the drain port to maintain solenoid reducing pressure at a specified level.
