Main Control Valve Body, Overhaul

NOTE: The individual valves and springs are removed by removing the stop pins and stop plugs. The valves will slide in and out under their own weight. Be careful not to damage the valves. Clean as necessary. Apply the specified automatic transmission fluid (ATF) to all parts and bores.

DISASSEMBLY

1. Remove the converter relief spring retainer converter relief spring, and the converter relief valve.
2. Remove the solenoid pressure regulator stop pin, solenoid pressure regulator stop plug, solenoid pressure regulator spring, and the solenoid pressure regulator valve.
3. Remove the low reducing spring retainer, low reducing spring, and the low reducing valve.
4. Remove the 1-2 shift valve stop pin, 1-2 shift valve stop plug, 1-2 shift valve, and the 1-2 shift spring.
5. Remove the 2-3 shift valve stop pin, 2-3 shift valve stop plug, 2-3 shift valve, and the 2-3 shift spring.
6. Remove the pressure modifier stop pin, pressure modifier stop plug, pressure modifier spring, and the
7. Remove the coast timing stop pin, coast timing stop plug, coast timing spring, and the coast timing valve.
8. Remove the torque converter clutch (TCC) shift stop pin, the TCC shift stop plug, the TCC shift valve A, the TCC shift valve B. and the TCC shift spring.
9. Remove the 3-4 shift valve stop pin, 3-4 shift valve stop plug, 3-4 shift valve, and the 3-4 shift spring.
10. Clean and inspect main control valve body.

ASSEMBLY
To assemble, reverse the disassembly procedure.
