Removal

1. Disconnect the battery ground cable.
2. Raise and support the vehicle.
3. Remove the LH front fender splash shield.
4. Drain the automatic transmission fluid (ATF).
5. Position a drain pan under the main control cover.
6. Disconnect and plug the inlet and outlet fluid cooler tubes.
7. Remove the oil cooler mounting bracket from the top RH side of the main control cover.
8. Disconnect the vent hose from the top LH side of the main control cover.
9. Loosen the main control cover bolts.
10. Allow any transmission fluid to drain from the main control cover.
11. Remove the main control cover bolts and cover. Discard the main control cover gasket.
12. Disconnect the transmission fluid temperature (TFT) sensor connector.





13. Disconnect the solenoid connectors. Note the position of the connectors to ease installation.

NOTE: The solenoid connectors are color coded to ease installation.





14. Remove the main control valve body bolts.
15. Remove the main control valve body.
