Separating Assemblies

NOTE:
^ Each valve body bolt has a letter on the bolt head which matches the letter placed near the bolt hole.
^ Shift solenoid valves are serviced separately from the valve body.





1. Use transmission fluid temperature Remover/Replace T92C-77000-AH to remove the transmission fluid temperature (TFT) sensor.
2. Remove the following solenoids:
^ Line pressure solenoid
^ Torque converter clutch (TCC) solenoid
^ 3-2 timing solenoid
^ 1-2 shift solenoid
^ Torque converter clutch control (TCC) solenoid





3. Remove the fluid strainers and the O-rings. Discard the O-rings.





4. Remove the bolts indicated and remove the front control valve body, front gasket, front separator plate, and pre-main front gasket as an assembly.
5. Remove the front separator plate and the front gasket from the front control valve body.





6. Remove the check ball from the front control valve body.





7. Remove the check ball from the pre-main control valve body.





8. Remove the bolts indicated and remove the pre-main control valve body, main separator plate, pre-main rear gasket, and main front gasket.





9. Remove the jet orifices and jet orifice nuts from the main separator plate.





10. Remove the two check balls and the fluid strainer from the pre-main control valve body.





11. Remove the check ball and the fluid strainer from the main control valve body.





12. Remove the oil pipe, oil pipe O-rings, oil baffle, 2-3 shift solenoid, and the 3-4 shift solenoid. Discard the O-rings.





13. Remove the bolts indicated and remove the rear control valve body, rear separator plate, main rear gasket, and rear gasket.





14. Remove the two check balls and four fluid strainers from the rear control valve body.





15. Remove the seven check balls and the three fluid strainers from the main control valve body.
16. Clean and inspect main control valve body.
