Rear






REMOVAL

NOTE: The wheel hub and bearing are not serviceable separately. They must be replaced as an assembly.

1. Raise and support the vehicle.
2. Remove the rear wheel.





3. Carefully raise the staked portion of the rear axle wheel hub retainer using a small cape chisel.

NOTE: When loosening the rear axle wheel hub retainer, lock the wheel hub by applying the brakes.

4. Remove and discard the rear axle wheel hub retainer. It must not be reused.





5. Remove the brake drum or, if equipped, rear disc brake caliper and rear disc brake rotor. See Brakes and Traction Control.
6. Remove the wheel hub.





INSTALLATION
To install, reverse the removal procedure noting the following:
^ Tighten the new rear axle wheel hub retainer to 177-235 Nm (130-174 ft. lbs.) and stake it as shown.
^ Tighten the lug nuts to 88-118 Nm (65-87 ft. lbs.).
