Shift Fork: Service and Repair






DISASSEMBLY
1. Place the gear shifter forks in the NEUTRAL position.

NOTE: The NEUTRAL position is when the gear selector interlock sleeve and the gearshift selector arm are aligned.

2. Turn the third/fourth gear shifter fork away from the first/second gear shifter fork.
3. Slide the third/fourth gear shifter fork and gearshift selector arm off of the main shift control shaft.





4. Use a punch to remove the roll pin from the gear selector interlock sleeve. Discard the roll pin.
5. Slide the gear selector interlock sleeve off the main shift control shaft.
6. Slide the first/second gear shifter fork off the main shift control shaft.





7. Use a punch to remove the roll pin from the transmission selector lever arm and support. Discard the roll pin.
8. Remove the transmission selector lever arm and support from the main shift control shaft.

ASSEMBLY
1. Slide the transmission selector lever arm and support onto the main shift control shaft.
2. Press a new roll pin into the transmission selector lever arm and support and main shift control shaft.
3. Slide the first/second gear shifter fork onto the main shift control shaft.
4. Slide the gear selector interlock sleeve onto the main shift control shaft.
5. Press a new roll pin into the gear selector interlock sleeve and main shift control shaft.
6. Slide the third/fourth gear shifter fork and the gearshift selector arm onto the main shift control shaft.
7. Turn the third/fourth gear shifter fork until it is in the NEUTRAL position.
